There are a number of different services that Photo Gallery works with, listed so you can pick and choose: If not, notice you can share to Facebook, copy it up to your SkyDrive account, and lots more, right from within Live Photo Gallery. You can guess “Order prints” is your choice, and it is! Click on it if that’s what you want to do. Lots of cool things you can do to tweak and modify your photo (try out the different color filters, for example), but to make a print, click on “Create” on the very top. Now open up the photo you want to print with Photo Gallery and look on the top left of the window.

Don’t have it yet? You can grab it as part of the must-download Windows Live Essentials. Helpful, but it’s not “order from home” convenient.įortunately, Microsoft’s got you covered in this case with Windows Live Photo Gallery. There are also self-serve photo printing systems at retailers like that let you plug in your camera’s SD Card or other memory card and print directly from that. It’s so difficult that some camera manufacturers advertise that their camera can talk directly to a photo printer or can upload photos to a printing service. But once you cross the divide from what you’re seeing in digital form (even on your camera itself) and want to have a print that you can hold, it’s definitely more work and more prone to be confusing, neophyte or expert. If you want to have a screen saver, email photos to your friends and family, share them from an iPad or other tablet or post them to Facebook or what-have-you, it’s easy. Not using such profiles makes it hit or miss as far as screen/print matching - which is never perfect in the first place even with profile use. You’ve identified one of the more tricky parts of digital photography, actually: going from digital to analog. You then have to use these printer/paper profiles when screen viewing and printing in such editing programs as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom.

If you don't want to purchase CM Photo (or similar and sometimes much more expensive software that can both calibrate your monitor and create printer/paper profiles), then download canned free printer/paper profiles - major paper manufacturers generally have them available. You can't create such profiles using ColorMunki but you can do this with ColorMunki Photo.

If your prints are not anyway near the colors and tones of your monitor, it's probably because you are not profiling your printer/paper. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate any help or advice. When I print, I double check the Photoshop manages the color and I'm using the right paper profile. If I don't calibrate my monitor my prints are all over the place. When I calibrate my monitor it seems like the Gamma is way off and the picture look extremely dark. I tried to go into Windows color management but that effects the whole system. I also use it to scroll pix as my screen saver. It doesn't seem to bother other apps like "photos" but I'm so used to using my photo viewer because I can zoom in and out and right click and go to properties. I use the viewer to quickly go through my pix and then run the ones I want thru photoshop. I bought the Xrite colormunki to calibrate my monitor but it completely messes up my Windows photo viewer. I've watched every YouTube video and read all I can on it. What's on my monitor ( viewer/ Photoshop ) doesn't match my prints.

I bought a Canon pro 10 printer and I've been going back and forth trying to figure this out. When I print, I double check the Photoshop manages the color and I'm using the right paper profile. I tried to go into Windows color management but that effects the whole system.
